Elecnor, the benchmark in hydroelectric power in Honduras
Elecnor has renewed the operation and maintenance contract for the hydroelectric power station at Nacaome, Honduras, for another four years. This hydroelectric power station has an installed capacity of 30 MW.

Built by Elecnor and handed over to the government of Honduras in 1998, the power station was destroyed by hurricane Mitch before it was started up. Elecnor participated in obtaining funding for the reconstruction of the plant between 2000 and 2002 and, from then on, has continued with the operation and maintenance of this project.

The presence of the Spanish group in Honduras has been characterised, mainly, by the implementation of transmission projects (substations) for both public and private clients. Furthermore, among other projects, the group has been in charge of the construction of a water treatment plant in the country and is currently carrying out work on the new international airport at Palmerola.
